Laotse  (Lao-tzu) lived in present-day China, at that time, around 500 BC in Choussa. His name means old master or old, as he is said to have been born old already gray-headed. According to one court historian, Laotse served as scribe for the Imperial Archives in Loyang, central China. In his book (Shih chi), the same historian says of Laos:

"Laotse lived in Chou for most of his life. Seeing the decay of Chou in advance, he left and came to the border. Border guard Yin Hsi said,“ Sir, because once you want to step aside, I ask you to write a book for me. ”Then Laotse wrote a two-part book 5000 words and where he dealt with the concepts of road (TAON) and power (TEN) . Then he left. No one knows where he died. "

Legends about Laos also tell of the meeting of Laos and Confucius. Confucius had come to Laoten for advice on performing the rituals. Leaving the master, Confucius stated that he had met Laoten, who was like a dragon. He noted that running animals can be caught with traps, floating nets, and flying arrows, but he didn’t know how to catch dragons riding in the mood and in the clouds.
