Catholics often have a habit of going to church to be silent in the middle of the day or at the end of the work day. The fair is delivered every day up to several times. Only Good Friday and that  next saturday are exceptions.

Until the 1960s, the language of the fair was Latin and the common people did not understand much about it.

Today, in all Catholic churches, the Mass is held in the vernacular. You can also bring your own national features to the fair, such as music and parish singing. (previously the choir sang). The role of the sermon has also been strengthened and lay people are happy to be involved. The fair is always delivered by a priest, or  bishop.

The highlight of the Mass is the Eucharist, the Eucharist, which is the sacrament. According to Catholic doctrine (transubstantiation doctrine), the priest turns bread and wine into the body and blood of Christ. Today, both communion items are also distributed to lay people. At the moment of the change of bread and wine, the communion assistant rings the bell and the congregation honors the holy moment by kneeling.

At the end of the Mass, the clergy leave the church as a procession (pictured is the clergy of the Church of Mary Maggiore in Rome)
