Not everyone considers Confucianism to be a religion at all, because the original Confucianism did not emphasize the personal god, believed more in the moral universe.

As in Taoism, man had to try to live in harmony  with the universe. For Confucius, HEAVEN was this morally binding force.

Today, Confucius itself has become an object of worship, as evidenced by the countless statues and altars made of him in temples.
